    Accelerating Research Translation (ART): Seed Translation Research Projects (STRP):

    Apply for funding under this program is you have an early-stage innovation that requires sufficient development to determine and attain translational viability. Funding for STRPs provides both financial and training support to accelerate the translation of University of Wyoming (UW) innovations for public use and benefit.

    STRP awards will provide UW’s entrepreneurial and creative community with funds to support further development of innovations having the potential to significantly impact society through utilization or commercialization.

    ASCEND2.0 Funding Opportunity Announcement

    Funding Details: Two pilot projects will receive $15,000 each.

    Goal: The primary objective of ASCEND2.0 is to foster the advancement of biomedical innovations that promise to improve the quality of life and save lives. We are particularly interested in proposals demonstrating a clear and expedited path to commercialization, ensuring that groundbreaking discoveries reach those in need accelerated.

    Criteria: Applicants must be affiliated with one of the eleven ASCEND2.0 partner institutions to be eligible for funding. Additionally, proposed biomedical innovations must have been disclosed to the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at the applicant's institution, and an intellectual property and technology protection strategy must have been developed in collaboration with the TTO.

    Requirements: Awardees will be expected to provide regular progress updates, engage with educational materials provided by NMSUF, and strategically consider the submission of SBIR or STTR proposals following the completion of the funded research.

    Considerations: Awards up to $15,000, 6-month project period, funds for specific tasks only.
