Student Wyoming Education Association (SWEA)

Student Wyoming Education Association (SWEA) is an club for future teachers and other students that plan to work in the school system. Our main purpose is to promote Professional Development, Political Action, and Public Service. Our organization has participated and helped organize events such as Raising Readers, Read Across America, Outreach to Teach, Student Leadership Conferences, College Bound Program, Step-Up for Kids, and various other activities.

Members of SWEA often get to interact with students as pen-pals or by going into schools to read or dress up as book characters. We will be doing many fundraising events for not only our group but for other organizations that we believe we can help. The SWEA organization is a great way for future teachers to learn more about the profession they plan to enter after graduation and to get real experience helping others. It is also a great way to meet professional and retired teachers and learn from them.
