UW and Wyoming APEX Accelerator to Host Government Contracting Essentials Workshop June 27

Small-business owners will have an opportunity to learn about the essentials for government contracting Thursday, June 27.

Janean Forsyth will discuss the subject during a Wyoming APEX Accelerator “Lunch and Learn” webinar titled “SAM Registrations and the DSBS: Essentials for Government Contracting” from noon-1 p.m. To register, go here. Wyoming APEX Accelerator, part of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network housed at the University of Wyoming, is the state’s expert in government contracting assistance.

During the webinar, small-business owners will learn about the System for Award Management (SAM) and that having an active registration is the first step to becoming a government contractor. Additionally, the presentation will include the basic registration process for SAM; updates and tips on keeping registrations up to date; and a review of the Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS), a database used by contracting officers to find vendors and suppliers.

Forsyth, Wyoming APEX Accelerator program manager, has a background in compliance, training, human resources and equal employment opportunity. She is passionate about helping small businesses succeed in navigating the world of government contracting.
