NEWS

University of Wyoming faculty members are backing UW Libraries in ongoing discussions with significant academic publishers regarding licensing agreements. These agreements will dictate access to academic journals, specifying terms, conditions and costs for the institution.

The UW Faculty Senate unanimously approved Resolution 447 Nov. 27, endorsing the UW Libraries licensing priorities. The resolution acknowledges UW Libraries’ dedication to delivering top-quality information and expertise while advocating for responsible stewardship through equitable information production, discovery and access.

The Faculty Senate’s support coincides with UW Libraries’ ongoing negotiations for the renewal of licenses with major academic publishers. This includes negotiations with Elsevier through the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries.

FEATURED

As the semester comes to a close, a number of free wellness and destress events are planned for UW students. 

UW Libraries, Campus Recreation, the Wellness Center, Coe Student Innovation Center, LeaRN, the Writing Center, the ASUW and 7220 Entertainment will offer opportunities for students to manage end-of-semester stress starting Monday, Dec. 4-Monday, Dec. 11.
