Commuting student parking permits will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis beginning August 1, 2024 at 7:00 am. Please check back for the most up-to-date parking permit options.

Contact Transportation Services at (307) 766-9800 or tps@uwyo.edu for the most up-to-date zone availabilities.

Green Zone "Residential" parking permits will be available to students living on-campus on a first come, first serve basis. There is no guarantee that a Green Permit will be available to you if you are living on-campus.

Students also have the option of purchasing a Purple Zone parking permit if the Green Zone permits are no longer available.

Bringing a vehicle to the University of Wyoming may have its benefits, but is definitely not necessary in order to get around campus and Laramie.

UWYO Roundup provides several transit options to get you around campus and the Laramie community. View all of our transit options to help you make your decision!

Most students living in the Residence Halls find that the University of Wyoming campus is easiest to navigate by foot, bike, razor scooter, or by utilizing the UWYO Roundup system!

Green parking permits are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis until permits are sold out to help ensure that Green Zone permit holders can find a spot in one of those lots. You may not be able to park in the lot closest to your residence hall every day, but you should have no problem finding a parking spot.

Green Zone parking permits are valid in the Green Zones, Red Zones, and Purple Zones.

Green Zone parking permits are not valid in the Gold Zone (Ivinson Parking Garage), Brown Zones, Orange Zones, ADA spaces, U spaces or other specialty marked parking spaces.

Properly permitted motorcycles can park in ANY motorcycle area indicated on the parking map.

The Purple Zone parking permit lots located along 30th Street and Armory Road are well lit parking lots that are monitored by Transportation Services and UW Police Department.

Fixed-route shuttle service to the East Express Shuttle Lot at 30th and Willett is available every 10 minutes from campus during the week.

On-demand service to the Purple Zone parking lots is available until 2:00 a.m. and on the weekends when fixed-route service is not in operation.

For students living on-campus, parking in the neighborhoods surrounding the University is not recommended. Many streets surrounding campus are City permit parking. Choosing to park in these areas will be at your own risk.

Students can get transportation to/from Denver International Airport and the UW Campus (or the Laramie area) with Groome Transportation.

Groome is not affiliated with the University of Wyoming.
