Four University of Wyoming graduates will be honored by the UW Alumni Association (UWAA) and the Office of the President for their professional achievements and support of the university during Homecoming Sept. 23-28, sponsored by UniWyo Credit Union.
Mary Behrens, John Easterbrook and Randall Luthi are the recipients of the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award, and Clayton Hartman is the 2024 Medallion Service Award recipient.
The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes alumni who have achieved excellence in their profession; appreciate the impact of their UW education; and are people of integrity, stature and demonstrated ability. The Medallion Service Award recognizes outstanding service to the university. The award honors alumni or friends of UW who have unselfishly given of their time, talent and support.
A new center dedicated to innovative research and finding solutions to energy development challenges in Wyoming is opening at the University of Wyoming.
UW’s School of Energy Resources -- in partnership with the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences -- is establishing the Center of Excellence in Subsurface Energy and Digital Innovation.
Soheil Saraji, an associate professor of energy and petroleum engineering, will direct the new center. SEDI will be a groundbreaking hub for advancing energy solutions by integrating cutting-edge digital technologies.
To help kick-start the center and position it for success, a generous gift from Richard and Marilyn Lynch will establish the Richard and Marilyn Lynch Non-Endowed Chair in the Subsurface Energy and Digital Innovation Center.
The University of Wyoming Alumni Association has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with UniWyo Credit Union for UW’s Homecoming celebration. UniWyo Credit Union will serve as the presenting sponsor for Homecoming from 2024-26. This fall’s celebration will take place Monday-Saturday, Sept. 23-28, with the theme “Ragtime Reunion.”
UniWyo Credit Union has been a longtime supporter of the UWAA and Homecoming, and the new commitment further strengthens its partnership with the UW community. In addition to sponsoring Homecoming week, UniWyo Credit Union also will be the title sponsor of Cowboy Coffee, a signature Homecoming event that brings alumni and the local community together before the start of the Homecoming parade.
