A $250,000 gift to the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources from energy infrastructure leader Williams will advance carbon capture, utilization and storage within the state and beyond.
This gift supports the newly created Carbon Dioxide Storage Excellence Fund, which will provide increased flexibility in addressing key challenges for the near, medium and long term. Most immediately, the excellence fund will provide support needed for current projects to transition from research and demonstration to commercialization. The charitable contribution will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the state of Wyoming and will jump-start the program with immediately expendable funds.
The University of Wyoming Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2024 Stewardship Award. The deadline for nominations is March 25.
Two faculty members will receive the honor.
The UW Foundation’s Stewardship Award recognizes the leadership of UW faculty members who have excelled in relationship building and stewardship of alumni and donors through receipt of private gifts; engaging former students in the activities of UW; and demonstrating a commitment to strong external relationships for the betterment of the university.
The University of Wyoming has formed the Office of Industry and Strategic Partnerships, a collaborative venture between UW’s Research and Economic Development Division and the UW Foundation to establish dynamic alliances between academia and industry that will foster innovation and economic impact throughout the state and beyond.
The Office of Industry and Strategic Partnerships connects companies to UW to create meaningful partnerships. These partnerships will highlight opportunities for UW faculty and subject-matter experts; foster cutting-edge research; direct curricula and experiential learning; enhance graduate hiring; and generate investment to support the university.
