Part-Time Positions

JOB PURPOSE:   

To fuel, stage, and park rental vehicles. Provide courtesy rides to customers as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Fuel rental vehicles upon return

  • Prep and stage vehicles for outgoing rentals

  • Transporting vehicles as needed. 

  • Provide courtesy rides for customers as needed. 

  • Complete all other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Ability to read, understand and follow all traffic laws. 

  • Ability to read, understand and follow set guidelines and regulations.

  • Ability to operate vehicles in a safe and professional manner in all types of weather and road conditions. 

  • Ability to park and back-up vehicles in designated areas.

JOB PURPOSE:   

Safely transport passengers for the SafeRide and/or Paratransit services that provide transportation on an “on-demand” basis. 

DEMAND RESPONSE DETAILS:

Paratransit: provides complementary ADA transportation for those with disabilities.

     Hours of operations: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 11:00pm

SafeRide: provides alternate night and weekend public transportation

     Hours of operations:

  • Monday - Saturday 9:30pm - 2:30am

  • Saturday & Sunday 9:30am - 10:30pm

Scheduling:

  • Ideal position for college students or those needing flexibility in scheduling

  • Employees can work one or both services

  • Scheduling is based on an availability matrix and is discussed in the interview

Pay: $13.60 - $15.10/hr, depending on service

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Other requirements: 

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

  • A CDL license is NOT required for the position.

  • Must be able to comply with the University Drug & Alcohol Policy. 

    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Random drug and/or alcohol screenings will be required and will occur on scheduled shifts.

  • Pass required background check

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Safely operate UW transit vehicles to include the transportation of passengers, and operate ADA equipment.

  • Perform safety inspections of vehicles to ensure equipment is operating within safe parameters. Maintain inventory of equipment. 

  • Assist with shop and vehicle cleaning.

  • Orient and train new employees as required.

  • Provide excellent customer service, offer assistance and answer questions from passengers as required. 

  • All other duties as assigned.

JOB PURPOSE:   

Enforce the University of Wyoming parking regulations on campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The main responsibility of this position is to enforce the University of Wyoming parking regulations on campus. It may also involve revenue collection, data entry, and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be able to provide quality customer service at all times and remain calm in stressful and sometimes difficult situations. 

Transportation Services is very flexible working with student schedules. Weekly hours can range anywhere from 10 - 30 hours. The normal hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.  Please note that this position requires occasional weekend, night, and early morning work.  Position includes frequent pay scale reviews.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Full-Time Positions

This position is grant funded and considered at-will employment.

JOB PURPOSE:

Manage and oversee all operations of the Transit Shop including repairs, preventive maintenance, inventory, safety inspections and personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the daily operational functions of the Transit Shop.

  • Supervise, repair, and provide preventive maintenance for UW Transit and Parking Services. Provide technical instruction, evaluate and coach employees as required, and participate in the disciplinary process.

  • Formulate policies and make recommendations for implementation.

  • Ensure that preventive maintenance program meets all standards set by DOT, FTA and other policies as required. Identify the need for and implement employee training, shop safety standards, tool inventory and accountability procedures.

  • Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair diesel and/or gas vehicles and equipment. Inspect vehicle components, parts, and accessories to ensure safe operation that is compliant with all DOT, FTA, and ADA regulations. Adhere to safety and preventative maintenance standards and procedures.

  • Administer and enforce university, city, county, state, and federal regulations and policies directly related to the Transit Services’ functions.

  • Provide liaison representation and initiate problem resolutions between city, county, state, and federal officials, vehicular vendors, and university customers.

  • Supervise staff, make hiring recommendations, train, evaluate, advise, and assist appointing authority with discipline process.

  • Prepare and maintain all work orders, defect reports, and warranty claims. Provide regular reports to management on repair and maintenance costs, miles, hours, etc. Perform associated accounting duties as required.

  • Coordinate repairs, manage inventory, diagnose and repair diesel/gasoline-powered buses.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Travel occasionally as related to vehicle breakdowns, investigation of traffic accidents, conferences, or meetings.

  • Maintain shop cleanliness.

  • Serve as a member of various committees as required.

  • Assist with procurement and developing equipment specifications.

This position involves on-call status.

  • 2+ years of supervisory/managerial experience 

  • Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance operations for heavy-duty/light duty vehicles to include vans and buses. 

  • Experience with budget and cost control measures.

  • Experience with computers including Microsoft office and web-based applications preferred.

  • Experience in hiring, managing, and supervisory skills.

  • Experience with inventory management, to include fluids, parts, and tools. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and potentially conflicting timelines.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to influence and build working relationships among diverse individuals to work effectively in a team and communicate well with others.

PLEASE NOTE:We are hiring for 1 Evening Bus Driver position. Our operating hours are from 5:30am-11:00pm, while our Full-Time Bus Driver shifts are 5:30am-2:30pm and 10:00am-7:00pm. Pre-employment drug screening and review of motor vehicle record history are required.

JOB PURPOSE:

Drive a bus or van on regularly scheduled or special assignment runs; assist with data entry of parking tickets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Safely operate UW Transit equipment as assigned.  

  • Perform federal DOT Safety inspections to ensure equipment is operating within safe parameters.  Maintain inventory of all safety related accessories.

  • Maintain certifications and licenses including but not limited to CDL, DOT Medical Certification, CPR, First Aid, TSI and Defensive Driving.

  • Maintain cleanliness standards of all equipment and workspaces.

  • Orient and train new employees as needed.

  • Maintain exceptional customer service standards, and assist patrons as needed.
